Retirement Readiness Part 2 (05/20/2026)

Retirement Readiness: Part 2 — The Social Security Deep Dive You Can’t Miss

They’re back—and they’re bringing the good stuff. After a packed house and rave reviews from November’s Medicare session, Kim and Derek are returning for Round Two, and this time they’re tackling one of the biggest retirement game‑changers: Social Security.

This isn’t your average info session. It’s the kind of conversation that makes you say, “Why didn’t anyone tell me this sooner?”

Why you’ll want a front‑row seat

You’ll get a clear look at what employees are really navigating as they approach the finish line of their careers.

You’ll understand the real challenges people face when Medicare and Social Security collide.

You’ll walk away better equipped to support employees through one of the most important transitions of their lives.

And honestly—Kim and Derek make a complicated topic surprisingly engaging.

If you work with employees nearing retirement, or you simply want to understand the system that affects nearly everyone, this session is the kind of insight you don’t want to hear secondhand.

Informative, practical, and surprisingly fun—this is the follow‑up session everyone will be talking about.

Kim Thomas — Presenter Bio

With more than 36 years in the financial services world, Kim Thomas has become the go‑to guide for making retirement planning feel clear, doable, and even enjoyable. A Buena Vista College finance grad, Kim specializes in investment analysis, financial wellness, and helping employees understand the big retirement questions—especially Social Security.

Armed with an impressive lineup of professional designations (CLU, ChFC, CASL, AIF) and a full suite of securities and insurance licenses, Kim brings both expertise and approachability to every conversation.

Outside the office, he’s just as dedicated to his community, serving as President of the La Vista City Council and as a board member of the La Vista Community Foundation.

Kim’s passion is simple: helping people step confidently into their next chapter.

Derek Bailey – Presenter Bio

Derek Bailey is VP of Retirement Plan Services, which is a fancy way of saying he’s chosen a career explaining 401(k) plans to people who would rather be literally anywhere else. He’s worked with corporate, nonprofit, and government groups, which means he’s explained fees, investments, and plan design to every variety of glazed-over expression imaginable. He’s a two‑time “Top 40 Under 40” award winner, which means he peaked early and has been chasing that high ever since. Derek also collected an impressive collection of acronyms—CRPS®, AIF®, NQPC and a small museum of FINRA series exams—because nothing screams “fun at parties” like listing your securities licenses.

Lunch will be served from 11:30am to 12:00pm

Session will start at 12:00pm

Recharge and Rise - Building Resiliency to Beat Burnout (07/16/2026)

Recharge and Rise- Building Resiliency to Beat Burnout!

How do you protect your energy—and help your team thrive instead of just survive?

In this dynamic session, we dive into the powerful difference between coping and true resiliency—and why that distinction matters more than ever in today’s workplace. You’ll learn how to shift perspective, break free from recurring stress patterns, and replace burnout with a more positive, glass-half-full mindset.

Because let’s face it—many workplace challenges aren’t one-time events… they’re repeat offenders. We’ll equip you with practical, easy-to-use strategies to tackle those challenges head-on, while building a culture rooted in gratitude, kindness, and accountability (not victim mentality).

This isn’t just feel-good motivation—it’s real, actionable insight you can put to work immediately. Walk away re-energized, refocused, and ready to show up as your best self—every single day.

Meet Mike Henke

A nationally recognized speaker, Mike Henke brings energy, insight, and real-world experience to every stage he steps on. As the founder of Mike Henke Inc., his passion for building strong, high-performing teams has helped organizations across the country elevate their leadership, strengthen recruiting and retention, and create more positive workplace environments.

Mike has developed over 50 dynamic training programs designed to deliver practical, results-driven impact. A former SHRM Chapter President, he is a trusted voice in the HR community—having been selected to present at 10 SHRM State Conferences, 8 DisruptHR events, and more than 40 SHRM chapters nationwide.

Known for his engaging style and actionable takeaways, Mike doesn’t just inspire—he equips teams with the tools they need to succeed.
