The Bureau of Labor Statistics: Information for Human Resources Professionals
This presentation will be provided via zoom, but we will still be meeting in person at the Northeast Community College for those interested.
The BLS produces a wealth of information for today’s and future HR professionals. Gain insights regarding competitive wages by detailed occupation, labor cost trends, and benefits offered by employers. Fully understand how to navigate the BLS website to access these compensation and other products of the BLS including occupational requirements, inflation, and employment projections.
Paul LaPorte is the Branch Chief and Senior Economist for the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Midwest Regional Office in Chicago. BLS is an agency of the U.S. Department of Labor that collects, analyzes, and disseminates statistical data on the conditions of the overall economy. Mr. LaPorte holds a B.A. degree in Economics from the University of Illinois, Chicago. He has more than three decades of experience working in the broad field of labor economics and statistics. In his current role at BLS, he oversees the BLS Economic Analysis and Information division in Chicago, where he helps disseminate BLS data through reports, presentations, and the BLS website.
